A number of years ago an uncle of mine was given up...
A number of years ago an uncle of mine was given up by physicians, who said the only thing that might help him was a change of climate. At this time Christian Science was called to his attention, and he began to study Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. Through studying this book, he was completely cured. Not long after that, another uncle was healed of a nervous breakdown. My mother wondered what had helped them, so she began to read Science and Health. One day she discovered that a very noticeable goiter, for which she had taken various treatments for a number of years without receiving any help, had completely vanished. This healing was permanent.
Needless to say, Christian Science has been our only physician since that time. I have had many healings, and I am very grateful to learn through studying Christian Science that we have help at hand no matter where we may be.
One day, when some painting was being done in our office, part of the scaffolding over my desk fell, striking me on top of my head and pinning me in my chair. It must have knocked me unconscious, for the next thing I knew someone was taking the boards away and asking me if I was hurt. I said, "No," and continued with my work, trying to keep my thought clear. By noon the pain was intense, so I asked for help from a practitioner, and spent the noon hour in the Christian Science Reading Room. I was able to go back to work without any discomfort, and felt no aftereffects.
