What We Most Need
WHAT
we most need is humbleness,
And willingness to wait—
The patience of the man who lay
Beside the temple gate.
For waiting with a trusting heart,
With hope and confidence,
Will circle us with angel guards,
And form a sure defense.
What we most need is steadfast faith
In God's unchanging love—
The knowledge that in Him we live,
In Him we breathe and move.
The courage to obey God's law
In thought and word and deed,
And find our joy in work well done—
That is what we most need.
