In 1926 I found myself in Switzerland, after seeking aid...

In 1926 I found myself in Switzerland, after seeking aid from many physicians in America and Europe for neurasthenia, the healing of which had baffled all the doctors. There had been indications of this disease since my childhood, and it seemed to grow steadily worse. The belief of heredity oppressed me, inasmuch as my father and brother had passed on with this difficulty. I arrived at a point where the condition seemed hopeless. My sister saw that I was sinking fast. I had not eaten normally in nine months, and was so weak I could not lift my head from the pillow for any length of time. She asked me if I wanted help in Christian Science, and I said that I did. She then called a practitioner in Montreux.

I was instantaneously healed. There was no convalescence. I arose strong and well able to travel from Switzerland to Paris, and from Paris to New York, and though the latter was a very rough passage, I ate and slept normally.

There have since been many other healings. I wish to express my gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and to the practitioner who saw the light of Truth so clearly as to be able to lift me from a sick bed to happy activity. My only prayer is to be a better Christian Scientist, and to be more grateful for all God's blessings.
