A Christian Science period in the Columbia "Church of the Air" series was conducted from Station WABC, New York City, on Sunday, November 3, 1940, at 1.00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), by Mr. T. Coolidge Fowler. This program was presented under the auspices of the Committee on Publication for New York, with the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. Miss Gertrude Gibson, soloist, was assisted by Mr. Alfred Greenfield, organist.

The program opened with Hymn No. 10 in the Christian Science Hymnal. Then Mr. Fowler read selections from the Bible as follows: Acts 17:22-28; Psalms 146:3; Isaiah 9:2, 6 (to second :); Proverbs 6:16-19; Matthew 22:35-40; II Timothy 1:7; Romans 13:1, 3, 10; and from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: Pref., p. vii: 13-21; 94:14-16; 490:8-11; 102:16-23; 226:14-17; 106:6-11; 227:17-20, 24-26; 339:32-12 (to first period).
