I should like to take this opportunity of expressing my gratitude for Christian Science. I did not come to this Science for healing, but because our family had grown dissatisfied with an orthodox religion. I have experienced many healings, some of which have been of unemployment, some of various small aches and pains, and one, which was instantaneous, of grief at the passing on of my mother.
I should like to relate an experience which I had some time ago. I found myself unhappy in my employment. I felt that I was above the type of work which I was doing, and that there was no progress or advancement for me there. While I was in this state of mind, I was given an extended vacation. I decided to work on the problem till the error gave way to the truth. I clung to the fact that God is All, and that as His child I was in my right place. I also knew that God's law demands progress, and that I could not be placed where it was possible for me to stagnate.
After taking the necessary human footsteps to secure a new position, without any apparent success, I still clung to the truth of being. On the Saturday before I was to return to work, I received a call to report to an organization in the city. What were my joy and delight, later on, to find the position one of unlimited possibilities! Later it worked out that I was able to return to school in order to finish my education. I shall never cease to be grateful for this experience, and for the wonderful privilege of having class instruction during my vacation, which enabled me to work out my problem.
