It is with the deepest gratitude to God for having led me to Christian Science that I send this testimony. At a time of great extremity I turned completely to Him for help through the study of this Science, and have been blessed in ways too numerous to recount.

Following the birth of our second child, I suffered from a condition diagnosed as a physical and mental breakdown by several physicians. Their well-meaning efforts had produced no results, and their final advice to my husband had been to have me put into a sanitarium. Before these plans were carried out, a member of my family, who had been somewhat interested in Christian Science for a number of years, offered to take me to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I attended a meeting, and several nights later was taken to see a Christian Science practitioner. Through the consecrated work which was taken up for me I was helped immediately. After my first visit to the practitioner I never doubted that God would heal me, and I began a very earnest study of the Bible and Science and Health. One day, a few weeks later, I realized that I had not been using eyeglasses which, until then, I had thought I needed for reading, and I have never worn them since. Also, a condition of eczema which was noticed shortly after the second baby was born, cleared up almost immediately, without specific work being done. Our first child had been given medical treatment for the same condition, which had lasted many months in a very distressing form.

While I was able within a very short time to resume my normal duties, complete recovery did not come quickly, for there was much patient work to be done. For this I shall always be grateful, because it meant much wholehearted seeking to know more about God, through attending church services and lectures, and reading our periodicals and the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly.
