I desire to express, through the Christian Science Sentinel,...
I desire to express, through the Christian Science Sentinel, deep gratitude for Christian Science and the many blessings I have received from it. For more than twenty years prior to becoming interested in Christian Science, I had been under the care of doctors almost continually, and had been operated upon several times. I was just out of the hospital and growing worse when I found Christian Science. I shall always be grateful for the kind friend who offered to take me to a Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting, and who gave me some copies of the Sentinel to read before I attended the meeting. That night when I entered the church I saw the words of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Those words seemed to be written just for me, and I have never forgotten the love expressed by the ushers.
That week I was healed of insomnia, weakness, chronic constipation, backache, and headaches. I shall always feel grateful for the practitioner who helped me with these first struggles.
I have also been healed of ptomaine poisoning. After suffering for many hours, too ill to read, I declared over and over, "God is my Life and my strength," and I found I was healed. I rejoiced and thanked God. I was also healed of ivy poisoning. I read Science and Health and shortly afterwards all fear left me. The next morning my face was clear and smooth. I was healed of intestinal influenza, hemorrhage of the bowels, fear of blood poisoning (septic infection) in one of my feet, and tonsillitis. I had absent treatment for all of these, except the intestinal influenza. There have been other healings, of burns, painful knee, cuts, corns, colds, and many other difficulties.
