Daily Sun-Times

A sermonette which appeared in the Sun-Times recently constituted interesting reading, but it included a reference which indicated a misunderstanding of Christian Science.

The cardinal points or religious Tenets of Christian Science are to be found on page 497 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Contrary to the inference contained in the newspaper article, Christian Scientists do not worship the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. They do, however, respect and revere her for her mighty achievements and her consecrated service to humanity. She is the author of the Christian Science textbook. The Christian Science church organization, The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, with its branch churches and societies, embraces all Christian Science activities.

The Christian Science periodicals include The Christian Science Journal, a monthly publication, the Christian Science Sentinel, a weekly periodical, and four foreign-language Heralds. In each issue of the above appear articles and editorials based on the teachings of Christian Science, and testimonies of healing through Christian Science which have been carefully verified and have stood the test of time.
