In deep gratitude to God for my first glimpse of the truth I give this testimony.

When Christian Science was introduced to me I was suffering from a nervous breakdown. After I had spent some weeks in hospital with no improvement, it was recommended to my relatives that Christian Science be tried. Work was taken up for me by a practitioner, and I was placed in the home of students of Christian Science, who lovingly cared for me. The loving-kindness of people who were comparative strangers to me at that time, will never be forgotten.

I was given some of Mrs. Eddy's writings to read, and in gratitude for all the love shown me I read them, but I was not interested until I read in Science and Health, in the chapter on Genesis, of the two accounts of creation—the spiritual and the material. I was surprised that I had not seen the Bible in that light before, and I accepted the truth that man is made in God's image and likeness. Shortly after this my healing came, and my whole outlook on life was changed. Lack of confidence, depression, self-righteousness, and other illusions are daily being replaced by joy, confidence, hopefulness, tolerance, and gratitude for the bright promise which Christian Science brings to us.
