Christian Science was first brought to our attention through a very dear friend's healing of spinal and stomach trouble of long standing. While this healing made a deep impression on us, yet it was several years later before my husband and I turned to this Science to gain that peace and understanding which Christian Scientists express.

Through the recommendation of a friend, I borrowed the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, from a local Christian Science Reading Room. From the very first reading of the book, I felt a quietness and peace come into my consciousness that I had not felt for many years, and extreme sleeplessness vanished at once. I read the book almost day and night. During the first week of my reading I was healed of a bad sunburn, which I had acquired at the beach the preceding Sunday.

I have been healed of extreme constipation. Doctors said that the lower part of my bowels was partially paralyzed. This healing seemed to be slow, but when fear was overcome, the bowels began moving normally and naturally. Stomach trouble and the fear of eating certain kinds of food have been healed. Extreme nervousness has been overcome. A tendency to take deep-seated chest colds has been healed. Attacks of influenza have been instantly met through the help of a practitioner. Many unlovely traits of disposition have yielded to the lovely thoughts of God, and I have learned in some measure the value of rejoicing and expressing gratitude.
