Humility

Oh, let me be more childlike, Lord,
More humble, meek, and mild,
And let me put my hand in Thine
And trust Thee as a child.

My daily need Thou wilt supply,
My daily task provide,
And constant watch keep over me,
If I in Thee abide.

From fear Thy love will loosen me,
From doubts and from alarms;
And as Thy child I'll feel the warmth
Of "everlasting arms."

So let me be more childlike, Lord,
From self and sense set free.
My Father-Mother God I'll trust,
And learn humility.
