Christian Science, as the law of God operating in human...
Christian Science, as the law of God operating in human consciousness, has sustained me for about nineteen years. My study of it has prepared me for my present business, is enabling me to realize true success and joy, and unfolds continuing promise of progress. Christian Science has brought me many blessings. I was freed from the rigors of children's diseases, and was eventually healed of chronic asthma and other defects. So unreal to me now is the asthma that I do not remember when the symptoms ceased to appear.
The Sunday school was my well of supply, and my record in preparatory schools became more than ordinary. In college I discovered how truly Christian Science had prepared me to cleave to the truth and to exact good out of every circumstance. The blessings accrued when my senior year was drawing to a close. The year had begun under a cloud of financial lack, seemingly insurmountable odds in certain studies, and fear of inability regarding extra-curricular responsibilities, such as that of editing the students' daily newspaper. I saw that the solution lay, as always, in gaining a larger understanding of man, "the full representation of Mind," as Mrs. Eddy defines "man" in part on page 591 of Science and Health.
While I was working out these problems, I noticed a skin imperfection on one of my fingers, but I dismissed the thought with the realization that "the Word was made flesh," and that man reflects perfection. Soon a successful graduation day arrived; money had been adequate, the results of my studies were more than satisfactory, and my extra-curricular work in journalism had launched me on a career in that field. And, to be recounted among these these blessings is the fact that my skin had become normal.
