My heart is filled with gratitude for the many blessings that have come into my life since I took up the study of Christian Science. At the time I turned to this truth I was unable to walk, and physicians had given me no hope of being active again.

One Sunday a friend took me in my wheel chair to a Christian Science church. One part of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly stood out very clearly to me and gave me the first ray of hope that Christian Science could help me. This included the Bible story of the healing of the lame man "at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful," and the illustration, given by Mrs. Eddy in the textbook, Science and Health (pp. 422, 423), of "two parallel cases of bone-disease," one of which has a surgeon in attendance, and the other a Christian Scientist.

My entire life was changed after that day. I got a copy of the textbook and started to study it. I asked a practitioner for help, and steadily gained my freedom. The physical healing took two years. However, during that time many other conditions were healed.
