Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

The Melbourne dailies are giving generous space to the reporting of our church services, both before and after the Sunday services. One paper provides two columns each Saturday for a message to their readers from the churches, and the Christian Science church has its regular allotment to this feature. During the year, five hundred and seventy-two excerpts from the weekly Lesson-Sermon were printed in the press. These excerpts consist of the title of the Lesson-Sermon, the Golden Text, and short citations from the Bible and Science and Health.

An outstanding tribute was made to The Christian Science Monitor recently by an international news commentator through one of our national stations. After giving a most comprehensive résumé of world events, he said: "I must pay unqualified tribute to the authenticity of news obtained from The Christian Science Monitor and its high literary standard." Through the generous daily issue of "The Monitor Views the News," 3XY, a Victorian B Class station, is now almost daily giving news items from this origin, and appreciation is attributed to the Monitor after each session.

Nine lectures were given in the Victorian field during the past lecture season; one of these lectures was relayed by a national hook-up throughout Australia, being heard over sixteen stations. The midday lecture was broadcast through National Station 3AR. Owing to widely scattered country groups of adherents of Christian Science, the radio provides an exceptionally good medium whereby Christian Science lectures may be heard by those who otherwise would be deprived of this blessing. Deep appreciation is expressed for the broadcasts.
