Judgment and Deliverance

Standing fast for the manifest rewards of righteousness, right doing, the prophet Isaiah, recounting the privileges and blessings of the godly, declared, "The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us." These words admit no belief in or fear of another judge, of harmful laws or government. They admit no possibility of any deliverer other than the God of Israel, the one God. The promise to the godly is of protection, peace, plentiful supply, safety, and healing.

Today, in the course of his human experience, the student of Christian Science may often be confronted with the necessity of like clear thinking. In the face of an urgent and seemingly momentous problem, needing right solution, he at once seeks to know the truth about God and man. Aided by the Scriptural promises, and heartened by the further light he has gained through his study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, he takes his stand firmly on the rock of Truth. He remembers the promise given by the master Christian to those who faithfully and definitely follow his command and promise, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

The assurance voiced by the prophet came through steadfast adherence to the one God and His unvarying care for all. Considering the suggestions of fear, lack, division, and unpreparedness attacking mankind today, the Christian warrior and seeker for spiritual light and freedom raises his thought in unbounded gratitude for the revelation of Christian Science, showing the eternal and almighty God to be the one infinite divine Mind. Mrs. Eddy has written on page 469 of Science and Health, "There can be but one Mind, because there is but one God; and if mortals claimed no other Mind and accepted no other, sin would be unknown."
