The pastures are not always green,
The road ofttimes seems long,
Yet God I know is by my side,
So near, so dear, so strong.
And as His angels guide my steps,
With Christlike tenderness,
I walk serene and unafraid
In quiet happiness.

I know one Life, one Father dear,
One perfect, upright man,
Born not of human breath or will,
But of God's certain plan;
Untouched by seeming sin or loss,
Forever joyous, free—
Man without mortal birth or death,
Safe through eternity.
