A recent issue of the Southern Press contains the report of a meeting when an address was given on Christianity and World Problems. The speaker referred to "people who proclaimed doctrines of escape, such as spiritualism or Christian Science," and expressed the view that "these doctrines of escape merely gave a temporary respite."

Had the speaker given a little more study to the teaching of Christian Science, I feel sure that his estimate of its doctrines would be entirely different, and I shall be obliged if you will allow me space to state briefly one or two relevant points.

Christian Science is based upon the Bible. It teaches the true spiritual facts of creation as stated in the first chapter of Genesis and exemplified in the life and work of Christ Jesus. By learning these true facts one gains a demonstrable understanding of the nature of God and of man in His image and likeness, and, following the teaching of Jesus, one is enabled, in the degree of his understanding, to do the healing works that he did and taught his disciples for all time to do.
