"Ask, and it shall be given"

Why hear ye not the Master's loving counsel
When burdened sense affirms great is the need?
"Ask, and it shall be given," without measure,
From Love's divine, eternal, boundless treasure.
Awake, rejoice, and trustingly take heed!

With thought uplifted, joyously expectant,
Ask humbly God's omnipotence to know.
Complete and perfect now His whole creation;
And seeing this, men prove their own salvation,
When fretting claims their peace would overthrow.

Asking in faith—such prayer is ever answered;
And blest are they who trust the Father's care.
Man's heritage of wisdom full supplying
Abundant good to all on God relying,
Enduring substance here, and everywhere!
