A Christian Science period in the "Columbia West Coast...

A Christian Science period in the "Columbia West Coast Church of the Air" series was radiocast from Station KOIN, Portland, Oregon, on Sunday afternoon, August 7, 1938, at three-thirty o'clock, and had the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. This program was conducted by Sherwood Kretsinger, Committee on Publication for Oregon. Mark Daniels, the soloist, was assisted by William Robinson Boone, organist.

Mr. Kretsinger opened the program by reading selections from the Bible as follows: II Kings 6:8—10, 15—17; Isaiah 43:1—3 (to :); Psalms 139:17, 18; 121:1, 2, 5, 8; Jeremiah 23:23, 24; Psalms 16:1, 8, 11; Luke 12:24—32. And from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: 336:25—30; 333:19—27; 596:3—6; 471:13—19; 566:1—24.

Hymn No. 207 in the Christian Science Hymnal was then sung. The words of this hymn were written by Mary Baker Eddy. At the conclusion of the hymn, Mr. Kretsinger read, substantially as follows, an address entitled "God's Nearness";
