Monitor Advertising Information Committee Meeting, June 7, 1938

At this, the Annual Meeting season, we are again gathered together to give renewed tribute to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. At this season, our thoughts turn again in grateful recognition to her. We remember it was she whose love for humanity and whose pure spirituality enabled her to become the revelator of Truth in this age, and to give to the world as one of her greatest gifts her newspaper and missionary, The Christian Science Monitor.

Upon what more fitting occasion might we recall her words on page 26 of "Miscellaneous Writings," "Each successive period of progress is a period more humane and spiritual." Well may we say that our banner at this joyous season is blazoned with the watchword "progress." Truly, much has been accomplished. More remains to be done. Yet a deep sense of gratitude echoes in our hearts as we reconsecrate our united efforts and interests to broaden the channels Mrs. Eddy established for blessing humanity through the many avenues which the extensive activities of The Mother Church open to us all.

Taking their rightful share and importance in the activities of Christian Science churches throughout the world, Monitor Advertising Information Committees are increasing in number and in prestige. Their number has swelled to a present total of 1283 in their comparatively brief history. Their activities have extended, within the past year, to more than a hundred branch organizations where they have been undertaken for the first time. In other fields, the work continues to gain steadily in scope, significance, and fruitage.
