Christian Science is the greatest blessing that can come into anyone's life. More than twenty-five years ago Christian Science came into our home through the healing of my mother, after several physicians had stated she could not be healed of her ailments and had but a short time to live. She was healed of heart disease, inflammatory rheumatism, and varicose veins, for which she had worn rubber stockings for many years. God's guidance and protecting power have been experienced many times since then by all members of the family.

One of the most outstanding healings was that of a younger brother, who was healed of concussion of the brain in a very short time. This brother, then about twelve years of age, was riding a bicycle one evening, when he was suddenly struck by a passing car. He was brought home by those in the car, and through their insistence a physician was called. The latter merely shook his head and said there was not anything that he could do, since the boy had but a few hours to live. My parents thanked him, asked all kind friends to leave, and then called a practitioner over long-distance telephone; and the entire family turned their thoughts to God in prayer. At midnight my brother was able, with assistance, to walk upstairs to his room. I was but a few years older than he, but I read from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy until three o'clock in the morning. Three days later this brother was able to attend school, and so astonished were his teachers that they called at our home to verify the truth of the accident as reported, as well as the healing through Christian Science treatment alone. This healing took place some eighteen years ago, and my brother has been free from any bad effects believed to attend such a condition.

I have been healed of influenza, hemorrhage, ptomaine poisoning, heart disease, arthritis, and many other false beliefs which tried to hide God's law of harmony that is ever operating to bless all His children. Recently I was impressed with a testimony given at a Wednesday evening service, in which the speaker said he had been healed of the desire for strong coffee and tea, a habit that had held him in bondage for almost forty years. My gratitude for this healing of another, and the declaring that I, too, could be free from this same sense of bondage, brought about a similar healing within a very few days.
