On the "very dot" the [Christian Science] meeting began.... The opening hymn was one of dignity and worship—and that great audience sang.... There was a thrill—a call to worship in that beautiful music. And the heart of at least one attendant, there from curiosity, was lifted in worship.

After the singing of a hymn, there was brief [silent] prayer followed by the Lord's Prayer in unison—again a volume of uplifted voices, speaking the words so clearly that it was awe-inspiring.... It was a heart-searching time for the curiosity-swept attendant.
