Behold and Hear!

Like muted violin played soft and low,
The tender strains of Truth as sweetly flow
Into your soul, and tell in wondrous lore
Of things divine, one had not dreamed before.
This is the Christ, Behold, and Truth adore!

The Christ, as Truth, unfolding freedom new,
Oft mid encircling fears will come to you,
And soar above sad strain in minor key,
With ringing note of joy that sets thought free,
Like winging bird, to reach heights heavenly!

Faith, too, companions you in your brave flight;
Its cheering note displaces wrong with right;
Its tempo chimes with hope and charity.
Pure faith, attuned to Love, quickens in thee
God's symphony of Life—reality.

To Christ be true: cherish each memory
Of dulcet note, or blending symphony;
Sweet preludes these to Truth's immortal dawn;
His angels pure; faring your heart along,
Bearing Him praise in glad, triumphal song!
