Morgenavisen, Bergen (translation)

In an article in a Bergen paper, Christian Science, together with various other movements, is designated as a "religious substitute" and as an enemy of the church and of "real old-fashioned Christianity." This is highly misleading. Christian Science is based on the Bible, and particularly on the words and works of Christ Jesus. Its adherents are honestly striving to follow all the commandments of the Master, and this is Christianity. Jesus said, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

There are thousands who through Christian Science have gained this freedom. Through the better understanding they have obtained of the Bible, they have gained a living and practical Christianity, and have learned to know God as the One who "forgiveth all [our] iniquities; who healeth all [our] diseases." This is the Christianity which was practiced by the early Christians, and which presents "signs following."
