Christian Science came to my attention about twenty...
Christian Science came to my attention about twenty years ago in a mountain community in the western United States through the teacher of the little schoolhouse. So much love, wisdom, and understanding were expressed by her that whenever I heard the words "Christian Science" a sense of peace came over me.
A few years after this experience I was led to locate in a large city to attend high school, and one morning, on my way to school, I was joyously surprised to find my good friend the schoolteacher on the same tramcar. My first question to her was, "Are you still a Christian Scientist?" Her lovely smile and calm answer in the affirmative caused me to inquire further, and the next day she placed in my hands that blessed book, Science and Health by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. This truly was divine guidance.
From then on I kept meeting happy, good people, and would find before long that they, too, were students of Christian Science. Christian Science became my religion, my all, for to the best of my understanding I have relied upon it for guidance, supply, and healing. In the proportion that I have let Mind govern, the result has been harmonious, and through the years this harmony has increased as my understanding of God and man's relation to Him has grown. During high school and college days there were many struggles, but above all the material education, a spiritual education was slowly but surely purifying my thought.
