Never Forget

Never forget: behind the mist of seeming,
The Sun of righteousness, in this, God's hour,
In settled and irrevocable power,
On all is streaming;
Cleansing the heart, enlightening the eyes,
Revealing man, compassionate and wise—
Though carnal thought nor reason has, nor ruth,
Yet God is Truth!

Never forget, despite the false and fleeting,
The mother-heart of God, so warm, so near,
Enfolding thee and all thou holdest dear,
For man is beating;
And every tree shall tell and bird shall sing,
In little trills of joy, this blessed thing:
And thou, beloved, in thy life shalt prove
That God is Love!

Never forget there is no truth in error;
It has nor time, nor circumstance, nor place.
God is thy Life, and with His daily grace
Thou canst refute all woe and want and terror,
And, 'stablished in that consciousness benign,
In holy thought reflecting the divine,
The truth of being shall thy heart enthrall,
That God is All.
