I am grateful for Christian Science and for the many...

I am grateful for Christian Science and for the many healings and blessings which I have received through applying its teachings. For six years it has been my only help and refuge. I am grateful that it has helped me to understand the Bible better.

We have had some beautiful healings; one of scarlet fever before studied Christian Science, and later of rheumatism, sore throat, and severe sick headaches. My first healing was of severely burned hands. At that time I had not read all of our textbook, Science and Health by our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy; but I had memorized the first part of "the scientific statement of being," on page 468. As I was lifting a baking dish from the oven, it slipped through my hands, burning the palms severely. I must have cried out, but then I thought of Christian Science and its many beautiful healings, so I went to my room and repeated over and over the little I knew of "the scientific statement of being." My husband came to see what the trouble was, and I asked him to leave me alone for just a few minutes. The pain and burning soon ceased and was grateful and happy. I was able to come out and finsih preparing the meal and after wards to wash the dishes and straighten the kitchen. The next morning there was no pain or redness, and the hands were beautifully healed with no scar remaining.

Christian Science heals when rightly applied. We have much to be grateful for, every hour of the day. I am happy to be a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church and to be able in a small way to take part in the activities of the latter. I have learned never to forget to give thanks to God each time I receive good, no matter how small the blessing.
