Christian Science does heal

Christian Science does heal. Recently the truth of this statement was proved to me again, and in a very conclusive manner.

While calling on some friends on an errand one evening I was viciously attacked by a large dog, which lunged at my throat, sinking his teeth deeply into the flesh. After the dog had been taken away by his owners I continued with the purpose of my errand, which was to remove some luggage from the house to my car. It was only when I had completed this task, making several trips, that my friends, who were not Christian Scientists, discovered that I had been injured. I permitted them to wash the blood away with warm water, but refused their well-meaning offer to take me to a doctor, assuring them that I should be all right. While apparently quite fearful of my condition, they respected my position as a Christian Scientist and allowed me to go on my way without further objection.

As soon as I could reach a public telephone I called a practitioner and asked that work be done. It is with a great sense of gratitude that I can say that not once did fear enter my consciousness; that only one treatment by the practitioner—the one I asked for immediately following the incident—was necessary to bring about an immediate healing. The following morning the wounds were closed. In two days the soreness in my neck had disappeared, and at the end of one week all evidence of the wounds had gone. Except for cleansing twice with warm water, the only treatment received during this entire period was that of divine Mind, God, good, as taught and understood in Christian Science.
