In a recent letter to your paper a clergyman took exception to certain statements which appeared in the report of a Christian Science lecture in the Times-Journal.

Christian Scientists place a more unreserved reliance on the spiritual meaning of the Scriptures than perhaps any other religionists, for they are basing not only their future life but their present health and happiness upon it.

Contrary to another of our friend's declarations, it can be said that the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," was revised by its author, Mary Baker Eddy, after its first edition in 1875, simply to clarify its statement, and not in any way to change its meaning.
