"And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."

I have received so much through the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and through the testimonies in both The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel, that I must give something in return. Perhaps my testimony will help someone as other testimonies have helped me.

During the year 1934 I suffered from a very severe condition of what medical science called neuritis of the intercostal lining of the diaphragm in the left side. Being a veteran of the World War I was admitted to the Marine Hospital in Seattle, Washington, where I was treated for five weeks by the best specialists that the Government could get. Treatment consisted of fifteen hours of diathermy; but this failed to relieve me, and the injection of novocain and alcohol into the side only made it more painful. Then I was advised to seek aid or relief through change of climate, for medical science had done all it could for me. New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado were recommended, and a short time later a transfer to Colorado was consummated.
