It is with a deep sense of joy that I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science. When I came to this Science I was much in need of physical healing. I labored for a period of several years with a severe case of stomach trouble; I was treated by a number of doctors and surgeons, and had two major operations without any results. Then I thought the only thing for me to do was to give up, but my wife asked me if I would try Christian Science. My answer to her was, "Anything you wish, for as far as I am concerned I am through."

That afternoon she telephoned a practitioner, who very lovingly answered the call. I had not slept for months except through the use of morphine. When the practitioner left she told my wife not to give me any more morphine tablets, as she would give me all the help I needed; and to my joy she did. I went to sleep and slept the clock around, and when I awoke I manifested a greater sense of freedom than I had experienced for a long time.

The complete healing was slow. But I am very grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, to Mary Baker Eddy, and to all the practitioners who are so lovingly giving their services to the world.

I am indeed grateful for this healing, also for many other healings which my family and I have experienced since; but I am most grateful for the spiritual understanding which followed. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church; the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly; the Wednesday evening testimony meetings; all the Christian Science literature; and all that Christian Science is doing for the world. Words can never express my gratitude for Christian Science.
