On last Sunday there appeared in the columns of your publication an article, "Medicine Man Wins Tribute from Science," in which Christian Science was associated with rather questionable company. Space is respectfully requested for correction for the benefit of your many interested readers.

The healing ministry of Christian Science cannot be harmonized, or compared logically, with Shamanism, faith healing as commonly understood, or Couéism.

Christian Science was discovered and founded by Mary Baker Eddy in the year 1866. The teachings of Christian Science are based wholly upon the Bible, as shown by the first of its six Tenets, to which all Christian Scientists subscribe (Church Manual, p. 15): "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life," and by the convincing statement of Mrs. Eddy (Science and Health, p. 126): "The Bible has been my only authority. I have had no other guide in 'the straight and narrow way' of Truth."
