Dorset County Chronicle

In your issue of January 21 there appears a letter containing extracts from the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and in order to remove any misunderstanding there might be in the minds of your readers, I shall be glad if you will kindly insert this reply.

The writer of this letter feels that all should be allowed their right to religious freedom, and to choose for themselves. It is essential, however, that statements about Christian Science be so presented to the public that they convey the accurate impression. In order to understand any subject and to draw correct conclusions, the textbooks of that particular subject need to be carefully studied.

The correct title of the Christian Science textbook is "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This book, as well as those mentioned by your correspondent, may be borrowed free of charge from the Christian Science Reading Rooms; and the textbook is also in several public libraries.
