From Letters, Substantially as Published

In your issue of April 5 a report is published of a sermon by a clergyman who included the followers of Mrs. Eddy, meaning Christian Scientists, among other religious denominations who do not recite the Lord's Prayer as given in Matthew 6:9—13.

Christian Science is based upon the Bible, and it is our endeavor to follow the teachings of Jesus as closely as possible, so in our use of the Lord's Prayer we do not change the wording of it as given in the King James Version, but use exactly the phraseology to which the clergyman called especial attention.

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 16), Mrs. Eddy refers to the Lord's Prayer as the one "which covers all human needs." This prayer is recited by our congregations at each Sunday service and Wednesday evening meeting.
