According to a press despatch which appeared in the Globe and Mail recently during a debate in the Federal House, one of the members inferred that "Christian Scientists refuse to use the means the Lord has given us to cure our ailments."

Contrary to the above inference, healings produced by Christian Science are a direct result of using the means provided by God for the healing of human problems. The issues of The Christian Science Journal record authenticated healings of diseases, as well as of evil traits of chracter.

Christian Scientists, instead of ignoring "our ailments," definitely recognize their true nature and systematically and scientifically apply their understanding of God's law—the law of Spirit—to correct the inharmonious conditions. The power of spiritual truth, the understanding of the true nature of God, of man, and of God's law for man, far exceeds the so-called power of material remedies, as is indicated by the healings referred to, and therein lies the hope of humanity.
