"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."—Isaiah.

If I would hear that Word behind me say,
"This is the way,"
Would know each turn at left hand and at right,
And feel the confidence of paths made straight
For me,
Straight and lighted with the light
Of Mind, of Love and purity,
Then I must wait,
Stand quiet. I must sweep free
My thought of all the pleasures and the pain
Of finite personality.
All of the human hopes I entertain
And plans, and with them fear,
Must go.
Then in that active quiet I shall hear
(No human will demurring)
God's conscious healing Word;
And it will be unerring!
