Christian Science has proved itself to be the "pearl of great price" in my experience. Among the physical healings which I have experienced are two cases of sprained ankle. The first one required two or three days before some degree of naturalness resulted. Some years later the same ankle was sprained again, but as I was more alert and instant in mentally resisting the false sense of injury, the ankle was normal inside of an hour. At first the pain seemed so intense that I was forced to declare the truth of Christian Science aloud. Then as the pain subsided I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and contemplated the presence and power of divine Love, which quickly resulted in complete harmony.

I was healed through Christian Science alone of what seemed to be a serious infection which swelled and became inflamed. When fear was conquered and the erroneous condition of my thought was corrected, the healing was quickly manifested.

During boyhood I had a difficulty which intermittently seemed to cling to me and to haunt me continuously for several years. I had Christian Science treatment from practitioners during these years, at the times when this false claim seemed intense. The trouble would leave only to return again after some time. Many times during this trial I was confronted with the question, What's the use? It seemed as though life was not worth living, as though there was no joy or peace in store for me. Christian Science, however, finally adjusted the situation, and since that time I have found more satisfaction and comfort than I ever dreamed possible in this world. My difficulty truly turned out to be a blessing in disguise, for it forced me to the diligent study and application of Christian Science. The spiritual enlightenment thus obtained freed me and has brought to me the peace of God. These words of Mrs. Eddy (Science and Health, p. 66) were thus proved to me: "Sorrow is salutary. Through great tribulation we enter the kingdom. Trials are proofs of God's care."
