The story of an attempt by a so-called Christian Scientist...

Times of Ceylon

The story of an attempt by a so-called Christian Scientist to cure tuberculosis by snake bite, as stated in Sunday's Times of Ceylon, is misleading, as the method said to have been employed is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Christian Science, and no real Christian Scientist would resort to such means to effect a cure.

Christian Science treatment consists solely in the recognition of the omnipotence of divine Mind or God, which "health all thy diseases." Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 157), "Christian Science exterminates the drug and rests on Mind alone as the curative Principle, acknowledging that divine Mind has all power."
