On the wall of the church I attend there is a quotation from Revelation which reads, "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ." Often, as I ponder this Scripture, the words, "the power of his Christ." have stood out in my consciousness.

Several years ago there appeared an article in the Christian Science Sentinel on "The Power of God." At the time I first read it, I had not found Christian Science; in fact, I felt I was antagonistic toward it, but this article awakened in my consciousness some realization of God's power. I was at this time in much darkness mentally, but with this new inspiration I began looking up, watching and expecting, and within a few weeks was directed to my first service in a Christian Science church.

If there is one reading this testimony who finds the way a burden, one of loneliness, discontent, and unhappiness, may I say to you that I too was in that wilderness. The mental problem that I was laboring under had made me a very disagreeable person to be with. I lost about thirty pounds in weight and, to me, my path seemed rough. I spent many sleepless nights and shed many tears, but the awakening that came when I turned to Christian Science completely destroyed the darkness in my consciousness, healed me entirely of the mental disturbance, and gave me a freedom I had never before experienced. With the mental healing came the physical healing, bringing renewed strength, and within a year I had regained the lost weight. Where sadness, discontent, and unhappiness had bound me before, I now was filled with joy and peace.
