On page 495 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy we find the question, "How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science?" and immediately following Mrs. Eddy gives the answer, "Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit."

My sincere desire to "imbibe the spirit" of Christian Science prompted me to attend a lecture with the thought of immediate and instantaneous healings of a blind left eye and the use of glasses. Both were accomplished. For the previous five years I had been partially blind in the left eye, and the possibility of regaining full sight of this eye was doubtful. It was also deemed necessary that I wear glasses of very strong focal power. During the lecture a mist rose in front of me, and at first I thought that my glasses were soiled. I removed them to clean them, and then noticed that I could see without them. I covered my right eye, and lo, there and then the healing was apparent.

I wanted to give immediate audible thanks, but had to withhold this until the following Wednesday evening. Through the medium of this publication I wish to assure others of the healing power of Christian Science when rightly applied to any problem.
