My testimony is sent in gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who through her consecrated thought revealed the spiritual meaning of the Bible and explained man's indissoluble relationship and unity with God; and in obedience to the statement in our Church Manual (Art. VIII, Sect. 24), "Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important."

When Christian Science was first brought to my attention I was suffering from Bright's disease, which the doctors pronounced incurable. I was living on a milk diet and a change of climate was ordered, but the symptoms remained. Christian Science treatment was suggested, but owing to family objection it was not tried until some years later. Seeing the blessings it brought to a neighbor, I decided to try it for discordant living conditions. These were healed, and with them went also the physical claims. The healings came to me after much earnest study of the Bible, together with the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and work from loving practitioners, although no specific work was taken up for the Bright's disease. Later, sick headaches, a broken wrist, and a scorpion bite were healed, and burns were overcome almost instantly.

Some ten years ago, while I was riding in the folding seat behind the driver in a seven-passenger car, the door swung open and I went out under the car, and the rear wheel passed over me. When the driver reached me I had regained consciousness and was picking up my books. I truly was "absent from the body," for I realized as I fell that "underneath are the everlasting arms." We all continued to the church. That Lesson with its explanation of Life has ever remained to bless me and mine and others. I had a few days of discomfort with injured ribs, but did not need any other help than the Lesson-Sermon in our Christian Science Quarterly, which for that week was on "Probation after Death."
