It is with a deep sense of joy and gratitude that I bear witness to the healing power of Truth as revealed by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

Some time ago I was suddenly seized with severe internal pains followed by an irritating rash on my body, which I believe would have been called shingles. Mrs. Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 392): "Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such consclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously;" also, on page 393, "Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good." I realized the significance of these words and held on to the truth continually.

A few days later a Christian Science lecture was delivered in our city entitled, "Life Unafraid." At first I thought I should be unable to attend, and then I realized it was fear that would try to hold me back, and I denied the power of aggressive mental suggestion, and went with a great sense of gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for establishing the Board of Lectureship. I am sure I did not miss a word. I was "absent from the body, and ... present with the Lord," for I was entirely healed before I left the lecture hall—not a mark remained on my body and all irritation was gone; there has never been the slightest return.
