A good lesson to be learned in Christian Science is how to wait patiently. Moses waited for about forty years before he was able to lead the Hebrew people into the promised land. Our Master, Christ Jesus, was preparing himself for more than thirty years before he preached the word of God. Our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 254), "When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path."

I had an experience which gave me the opportunity of learning the lesson of waiting, and I found that to wait on God gives us the only real peace and satisfaction.

Some time ago I lost something which, to mortal sense, seemed very important. I applied the truth, but the more I worked the more confused I became. The word "lost" was always in my thought, until one day the "still small voice" said to me, What have you lost? Don't you know that in divine Mind there is nothing to be lost? Whatever divine Mind, Father-Mother God, creates can never be destroyed or taken from you. From that day I found peace and harmony, and I learned a most valuable lesson.
