Subject: Watchfulness

The station announcer said: Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen: It is Columbia's pleasure to present another program in the fifth consecutive year of the "Church of the Air" series. The service today is coming to you from Station KHJ, Los Angeles, and is approved by The Christian Science Board of Directors of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. The broadcast is conducted by Albert E. Lombard, Christian Science Committee on Publication for Southern California. The subject of Mr. Lombard's address is "Watchfulness." Music will be furnished by Madame Marguerite Baldwin, soloist, with Christopher Stephen Childe presiding at the organ. We now give the service into the hands of Mr. Lombard.

Mr. Lombard then read an address substantially as follows:

Throughout the ages, men have spent much time in watching each other—admiring and copying success, and criticizing failure. To follow a good example is helpful; while no benefit but much harm comes from the erroneous judging of others.
