Instantaneous Healing
According to John's Gospel, Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." All mankind longs to be free—free from limitation, worry, illness, and discord of every kind. Everyone is searching for the way to freedom and happiness. The Bible shows that knowing the truth would give this longed-for freedom. The vital question is, What is the truth, and how can it be known?
That which must be known in order to gain this desired freedom is the truth about God and man and their relationship. The Scriptures teach that God is omnipotent Spirit, Life, Love, that He created all spiritually, including man. We learn in Christian Science that God is ever-present Life, Truth, Love. We find also that He is Mind, divine Principle, Soul, Spirit.
In the first chapter of Genesis we are told that God made man in His own image. Since man is made in the image of God, he must be, in quality, just like God, good. Since he is the image of Spirit, he must be spiritual. Can we conceive of spiritual man as sinful or evil? We are taught in Christian Science that man is God's reflection. A reflection must be like the original. The reflection in the water of a tree on the river bank is the likeness of the tree, not of a rosebush. Man as God's reflection is not sick, troubled, or wicked; rather is he healthy, pure, and harmonious. Since God is Love, His reflection, man, is loving.
