In this age when laws, as commonly understood, are multiplying so rapidly that to follow them seems impossible; when those facing seeming difficulties which they are not able to meet are, in increasing numbers, turning to these laws which they do not understand for a solution of their problems, it is as fitting as it is sensible that we pause to inquire, and if possible discover, if there is any law the observance of which will produce the desired result.
