About seven years ago I was seized with a third attack of kidney stones. At the time, I was engaged in some very important work that required my entire time and attention. The threat was that I should be compelled to discontinue this work. About seven o'clock in the morning, after a night made sleepless by a sense of great pain and discomfort, I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, who told me to go right on with the activity in which I was engaged and never cease being grateful that Christian Science heals. Shortly after I had talked with this consecrated worker in Christian Science, the pain disappeared and I went about my work. At noon that day the inevitable relief came. A large calculus was eliminated with no pain or trouble.
About four years after this healing, in an examination for life insurance, it was necessary to relate this experience. The insurance company seemed reluctant to accept the fact that the healing could be complete, and they required three different uranalysis tests before they would approve the application. The policy was issued. There has been no recurrence of this trouble and there never can be, for Christian Science healing is absolute and final.
This experience alone would be sufficient for continued and perpetual gratitude for Christian Science, but it is only one of a multitude of blessings that have come to me through the application of this "Science that operates unspent" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 353). I was healed of the tobacco habit of fifteen years' standing and have had the privilege of applying this truth to my business with the result that depression of mortal mind has surrendered to the expression of God, good, and the manifestation has been a successful and happy one.
