In a world torn by fear, doubt, divided interests, and materiality, a world in which no one seems to be able to adjust rightly its differences, it is an unspeakable comfort to turn away from this picture to the absolute promises of Jesus the Christ. These promises include salvation from disease, from sin, from trouble, and from discord of every kind. We Christian Scientists believe that the world is in the condition it is because people generally have neither understood, claimed, nor demonstrated these promises of which the Scriptures are full.
