"Normal" states that "the mind certainly does much to affect the body." Paul said that "the carnal mind is enmity against God." This carnal mind is the source of all evil, and produces disease and discordant conditions.

Naturally, we would not look to this mind for relief from its own inharmonious thought, and it is clear that health and happiness should be sought elsewhere. Christian Science acknowledges God, divine Mind, as the only Mind; and it is only by radical reliance on the operation of this one infinite Mind that we find discords dispelled and harmony restored.

It also teaches that we must be transformed by the renewing of the mind, letting that Mind be in us "which was also in Christ Jesus." It elucidates how "the divine Mind makes perfect, acts upon the so-called human mind through truth, leads the human mind to relinquish all error, to find the divine Mind to be the only Mind, and the healer of sin, disease, death" (Science and Health, p. 251).
