In your issue of October 12 a clergyman criticizes Christian Science, which it is obvious he has not studied. His statements can be corrected, but his inquiries, in reference to quotations separated from their context, require more space then is here available.

The clergyman says that "Mrs. Eddy's book, Science and Health, is a wild farrago of nonsense." On July 17, 1933, a committee of the most distinguished writers in America was appointed to select the one hundred best books in the last one hundred years written by American women authors. Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," is included.

Christian Science teaches that God is eternal, infinite Mind, Principle, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth, and Love, intelligence, that this great primal cause and Lawgiver is not in inert matter or material force, that He is, as the Scriptures infer, All-in-all, Spirit, all-knowing, ever present, almighty, all good. The late Archdeacon Wilberforce said, more than once, that "God in Christian Science was the finest concept of Deity that has ever come to the mind of man."
